What We Are Learning
Math
We use Georgia Math for our math program. Our first unit that will be working with is called Creating Routines Using Data. The big ideas that we will be focusing on are:
Reader's Workshop
Our main focus will be starting off the year helping our learners build good reading habits to help them grow as readers through out their lives.
Writer's Workshop
Our first writing topic of the year is small moments. Students will be picking a small moment and expanding on that small moment to create their own personal narrative.
Social Studies/Science
Our first science topic of the year will be dealing with the behaviors that animals exhibit for survival as well as understanding life cycles.

We use Georgia Math for our math program. Our first unit that will be working with is called Creating Routines Using Data. The big ideas that we will be focusing on are:
- Count on starting at any number less 100 and continue to 120.
- Read, write and represent a number of objects with a written numeral.
- Quantities can be compared using matching and words.
- Recognize and understand patterns on a 99 chart (tens and ones).
- A number line can represent the order of numbers.
- Problems can be solved in different ways.
- Important information can be found in representations of data such as tallies, tables, and charts.
- Tables and charts can help make solving problems easier.
- Questions can be answered by collecting and interpreting data.
